The 2010 Jetta has a MK5 body, but with mostly MK6 electronics inside. It reset everything, but the airbag light on the dashboard is most likely stored permanently, hard coded in the cars computer and actively needs to be erased. So I knew there was not an actual airbag fault or harness issue, as is also common.ĭisconnecting the battery terminals and touching the negative and positive cables together (battery fully disengaged) for 15 mins to discharge the electronics did not work.
Probably while the car was still on, and this tripped the airbag light. I took apart the dash and pulled some fuses to check them. My stock stereo RCD510 revision AC died, as they all do. I have a 2010 Jetta SE 2.5L and was able to fix the dreaded airbag light issue.
